HOLISTIC AND INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY
Holistic psychotherapy takes all aspects of a person into account. How we think affects our feelings. How we feel affects our body’s reactions. Our body’s health often connects us to how we fit into this world, or our spiritual sense. And so the circle goes…if we are unbalanced in one area, we are unbalanced overall and we respond with emotional, physical or spiritual discomfort. Holistic psychotherapy aims to restore this delicate balance and return one to maximum levels of health.
This rebalance is achieved through a mix of traditional therapy methods, (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Rational Emotive Therapy, for example) and newer ones like Energy Psychology. This blend of therapies is referred to as an “integrative” approach. Referrals to a select group of other holistic practitioners may be made if their disciplines are determined to be useful for an individual’s unique concerns. These disciplines include naturopathy, homeopathy, acupuncture, yoga, nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine and more.
